The team keeps growing, there are many additional tutors available, we know we can find the right tutor for every student, from 1st grade through College. Every tutor is a certified teacher or has 10+ years of 1:1 math tutoring experience!
Bailey graduated from the University of Arizona Honors College with a BS in Mathematics and an emphasis in Mathematics Education. After teaching in Colorado for a year after their graduation, they joined the My Math Experts team and have been enjoying working with our students/families ever since! They love being able to change students’ perspectives on math and show them that it is a rewarding, interesting, and even fun(!) field. In their free time, Bailey enjoys playing games, drawing, hiking, and playing with their cat, Spicy Noodle.

Beth Banks
Beth has been teaching middle school math for 27 years. She knows that working with kids is her God-given gift! Beth is excited to be a part of the MME team to help students from anywhere and everywhere gain confidence, succeed, and share the same love of math that she has. She feels blessed to work beside your children and believes they are the future. Beth and her husband are also proud parents to two adult children and are over-the-moon ecstatic to welcome their first grandchild in December.

Tim is a University of Michigan graduate with over 32 years of experience in tutoring students of all ages in all academic areas. Some of Tim’s previous students have earned perfect scores on the ACT and SAT exams and have attended some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Harvard and the California Institute of Technology. Outside of academics, Tim is the author of two children’s books and a former professional musician and composer.

Michele Venne
Michele has been a classroom teacher, a teacher trainer and held many other teaching positions in the Paradise Valley Unified School District over the last 30 years. She has a passion for teaching math in particular and loves watching students grow their math skills with her guidance. She is a published author as well, among her many accomplishments. She can also be found riding her horse when she is not writing or tutoring math.

Sara du Toit
Sara is a graduate from Bethel College with a degree in Elementary Education. She has been in education for the past nineteen years in a variety of roles which have helped to shape her love of working one on one with students. She loves seeing students achieve their goals and find a love of reading and math. When the weather is warm here in Michigan she loves being outside with her family, enjoying the sand and campfires, while also playing music with her rock star kids.

Linda Borys
Linda is a graduate of Rutgers University of NJ with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She also attended Kean University of NJ and obtained her Teaching Certificate for K – 8th Grade. She has been teaching and tutoring over 20+ years. She loves seeing the “light bulb” go off when the student understands the math concept and is able to achieve the goals for the year. She can’t wait to help your child to have that “light bulb” moment and see the look of satisfaction on the face of your child. When Linda is not tutoring, she loves to hang out with her family, friends and her dogs and hang out at the the NY Renaissance Faire.

Sherry has been a classroom teacher for 30 years in three states, including Virginia, Tennessee, and Texas. Since 2013, she has been training and supporting secondary math teachers in East Texas through the Region 7 Education Service Center. She says “Quite a bit has changed since I started teaching in 1983. One thing is constant though, kids are still kids! I have yet to meet a child that could not open a present, each one opens it differently and at different rates. Education is a present, that every child can open.

Kara is a graduate of Miami University (Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education) and Marygrove College (Masters in the Art of Teaching) and she is currently in her 28th year of teaching high school math. She believes that every student has the potential to excel in math, and her goal is to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to tackle any mathematical challenge. With a deep love for mathematics and a commitment to helping students succeed, she is here to make learning math an enjoyable and rewarding experience for you. When she is not teaching, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her three adult children.

Kasey is in her 13th year in education, and has experience teaching many levels of mathematics. She received her undergraduate degree from Hardin-Simmons University, and her masters from Sul Ross State University. She has a passion for showing students that math can be fun, and helping struggling learners find success in their education. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids, watching sports, and reading a good book!

Beth is a graduate of San Jose State University in California (BA math) and Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana (MS secondary education) where she also worked on a PhD in mathematics education. She has been teaching mathematics in California and Hawaii for decades, and internationally with the Peace Corps. She loves helping students make sense of and enjoy math while building their foundations and confidence. Reading science fiction and hiking with her dogs are also big parts of her life.

David Pudder
David graduate from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Physics and Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an M.A. in Physics Education and M.Ed. in Secondary Mathematics Education. He obtained his Teaching Certificate in Mathematics and Physics from the state of Pennsylvania. David has recently returned to the US from teaching math in mainland China and Hong Kong for the past 11 years. He believes that meaningful learning in math comes from seeing real-world application and extensively “doing the subject.” When he is not otherwise engaging with students, David enjoys traveling to new locations in the world and eating spicy food.

Ruben graduated with a BS in Mathematics from Sonoma State University and a M.Ed. in Education from Azusa Pacific. He worked for thirty years teaching math at all levels at Palm Desert High School and spent some of that time as chair of the math department. Ruben enjoys helping students grow their skills and being part of watching their confidence soar. Outside of school, Ruben loves to work with his hands to build and remodel. He is a passionate mathematician and above all, considers himself a teacher and helper. He also likes being outdoors and spending time with his loved ones.

Lashawn Pettis
LaShawn is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas and Harding University. He is currently in his 24th year of teaching 4th and 5th grade. He has been tutoring students in math since he began his teaching career. He is always thrilled to help students develop strong mathematical foundations. His goal is to build confidence and foster a love for math in each student he works with. When LaShawn is not teaching and tutoring, he enjoys spending time with family and traveling around the world.

Nicolle Armstrong
Nicolle is an adventure seeking, dog-loving, math educator! She graduated from the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. After college, she spent two years teaching middle school math in Arizona. Her passion in education inspires her to teach with enthusiasm, to target student growth, and to encourage students to practice mathematics.

Kerry Frick
Kerry graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelors of Science degree in mathematics. She obtained her masters of arts in teaching at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Additionally, Kerry received her National Board Certification in mathematics. She has been teaching mathematics for 26 years in middle school, high school, and college level mathematics. During this time, she tutored students in person and online as well. Kerry looks forward to working with students in becoming successful in building confidence and reaching goals in mathematics. When Kerry is not teaching the greatest subject of all (math), she is hiking parks including South Carolina State and National Parks, working on her hobby farm which includes sheep, cows, and donkeys, or traveling to the coast or mountains.

Faisal Hareeri
Faisal’s greatest passion in life is teaching and tutoring. Born and raised in Bloomington, IN, Faisal experienced great success at school and at university due to amazing and unforgettable teachers. This is the foundation of his commitment to helping students. He has been tutoring and teaching for 15 years in various settings. Faisal has worked as an adjunct professor of Biostatistics at Kean University, NJ. He holds a BA in Laboratory Medicine, and a Masters in Math, Statistics and Biostatistics.

Chuck Baker
Chuck is an atmospheric physicist specializing in severe weather, improving forecast accuracy through advanced modeling and data integration. With experience at leading research institutions, he is also a dedicated professor and mentor in mathematics and the physical sciences. An accomplished aviator and search and rescue specialist, Chuck also applies his scientific expertise to real-world challenges in remote and demanding environments. He is thrilled to share his love of math and science with scholars of all ages!

Jake S.
Jake is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he studied Mathematics and Education and is now a current graduate student at Bowling Green State University studying Applied Statistics. He was a teacher for 2 years and developed a love for working with students before deciding to return to school to continue his own education! When Jake is not tutoring, he is an avid runner, woodworker, and loves traveling!

YoungKwang (Frank) Kim
Frank has previous experience as a high school math teacher, technology coordinator, and head coach of several sports. Frank has tutored and taught for years and has worked with different types of students and coworkers, and always strives to help students and families with the utmost professionalism and outstanding care. Frank is also bilingual, fluently speaking Korean and English and he brings his understanding of different cultures and outlooks to My Math Experts, which helps him connect on a personal level with students of all types.
